Merrick House’s gymnasium allows youth and other community members to participate in organized recreation such as basketball or physical conditioning. It serves as a healthy alternative to the streets.
In 2011 we started a Healthy Living Initiative. Additional programs include Zumba, Karate, Nutrition Classes, Health Screenings, Physical Fitness and Character and Leadership Programs, as well as a Summer Youth Basketball League.

Fitness Classes Available:
Zumba -- A fusion of Latin and International music that creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness workout
Led by a certified Zumba instructor. $2.00 per person. All ages welcome.
Mondays & Wednesdays 6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m
Karate and self-defense -- Learn beginner Karate techniques to increase physical fitness, self discipline
Led by a certified instructor
